Criminal Harassment Attorney in Denver, Colorado
Harassment becomes a criminal charge when a person intentionally harasses, annoys or causes undue alarm to another person by physical contact including pushing, shoving or kicking. Even frequent or repeated telephone calls and voice messages, texting, instant messaging or emails to another individual is considered Harassment if there is intent to harass, annoy or alarm.
If an individual has made obscene gestures or used obscene language to or at another in a public place or taunts, insults, or challenges the victim to the point of provoking this person into an aggressive and violent act, this is also an element of Harassment.
If you or a loved one are being investigated or you have been arrested for Harassment or other Assault crimes, DO NOT speak with the police. Call me first. Remember, everything and anything you say may be used against you. I am here to protect you, your reputation and your livelihood.

Harassment occurs if you are upset over a business transaction gone bad. You try to intimidate your associate by emailing him too many times over the next week using racial slurs and mocking his religious beliefs with the expectation this will get your money back. The derogatory reference to his race and religion and the continuous emailing is evidence of your intent to harass, annoy or alarm him. This is Harassment and carries a Class 1 Misdemeanor.
How I Can Help YOU
A conviction of Harassment is serious. Even a misdemeanor will be seen on your criminal record and a conviction, guilty plea, will stay on the record forever. On paper, “Harassment” suggests that you have trouble getting along with others. Employers and landlords will only see a conviction, not the real story behind it, making it very difficult to get a job or an apartment.
My goal is always to minimize the impact these kinds of criminal Harassment charges will have on your personal life and to avoid a criminal record. I will speak with you about the circumstances leading to your arrest. I will examine the evidence that has been collected by law enforcement and the prosecution to see if it is admissible and should be suppressed if it was collected improperly.

I vigorously negotiate with the prosecutor assigned to your case and will work diligently to have the assault criminal charges dismissed or deferred. Sometimes Diversion programs are available. Deferred judgments and Diversion can be petitioned to Seal if you successfully complete probation. Sealing would remove the criminal case from your CBI and also the Colorado court database.
