Nothing good happens after 11pm on Friday nights. Certainly not for Jack Elway, the 6’3″ 200 pound son of Bronco boss John Elway.
Auraria Campus Police were alerted to an incident involving a 23 year old woman allegedly pushed from a moving car by John Elway III last Friday. Denver court records indicate that Elway was charged with domestic violence by disturbing the peace and assault. Elway was arrested, booked and bonded out Saturday. Bond was set at $550 and was paid by his father.
His next court appearance will be in Denver Municipal Court June 5th at 8:30 am. A protection order is in place to protect the victim.
Any act, whether violent of not, can be charged as “domestic violence”. Domestic violence is a label that can be put on almost any crime. Law enforcement will always make an arrest when one of the domestic intimate partners is claiming an offense.
Disturbing the peace and assault are serious charges and if convicted or plea bargained will result in young Elway having a criminal history that hopefully will someday qualify for sealing.
Patrick Smyth, media relations executive director for the Denver Broncos has stated that this is a family matter and there will be no comments from the Bronco camp.
